Overview

"The Old West Car" is the 3rd episode of Season 4 of Infinity Train and the 33rd episode overall. It aired on April 15, 2021.

Synopsis[]

Ryan, Min, and Kez get thrown into an Old West jail.

Plot[]

Kez distracts the insects as she, Ryan and Min-Gi escape into the town. They go into a tea saloon that is run by Samantha the Cat. After Ryan "flirts" with her, Samantha is intrigued to discover that not only did Ryan and Min-Gi get on the train together, but that their numbers are synced together and saves them from their pursuers. However, she sells them out when she is offered a bounty. In prison, Kez leaves on her own accord while Ryan and Min-Gi unlock the jail cell, but they are caught and immediately brought to court. Judge Morpho, who was their caterpillar pursuer and transforms into a butterfly to reside over the proceedings, immediately declares them guilty for aiding Kez, who defiled a copy of their law. Ryan and Min-Gi are brought to a bug zapper, but they distract everyone with a fake Kez while Morpho gets zapped. Ryan and Min-Gi meet up with Kez and Samantha and have a laugh, causing their numbers to go down to 180. As Morpho vows revenge, the aliens from the previous car arrive asking for Kez's whereabouts.

Trivia[]

  • Robbie Daymond, the voice of Jesse Cosay, returns to voice some minor characters in this episode. The recording sessions for this episode took place during Book Two's post-production, and Owen Dennis had him record an extra line as Jesse to be retroactively added to Book Two.[1]
  • This car may be a nod to how the protagonists of Book 4 were originally going to be outlaws in the Old West.[2]
  • During the Book 3 AMA, Owen Dennis hinted at Judge Morpho by saying "the cabin that had the bug zapper fire hazard because all the moths hadn't been cleaned out of it?"[3]

Continuity[]

  • The grasshopper with a cowboy hat was previously seen in Season 3 "Le Chat Chalet Car", on a tin can that Hazel picks out of their food rations in The Cat's cabin.
