"The Campfire Car" is the 6th episode of Season 3 of Infinity Train and the 26th episode overall. It aired on August 20, 2020.
Synopsis[]
The Apex are just a car away! They're almost home! But first they have to make it through a forest full of pinecone camp counselors.
Plot[]
Grace calms down Hazel after she panics from her sudden transformation. Realizing Simon will not react well to learning of Hazel's identity, and that the transformation is linked to Hazel's emotional state, Grace convinces Hazel to remain calm to prevent her from transforming again and that they will keep it a secret from him. Re-entering the car, Grace takes a moment to pull rank on Simon for disobeying her orders before they continue.
They soon make it to the next door, but Hazel requests a moment to hold a funeral for Tuba. Simon refuses as there is no body for them to bury, but Grace convinces him to let it happen by claiming it would not be good to have Hazel meet the Apex while still mourning a denizen. They look for a spot to leave a glowing rock from the Jungle Car that Hazel will use as Tuba's proxy, and pass some of the friendly camping denizens of the car on the way. Simon finally grows impatient and heads for the door, leaving Grace to join Hazel in choosing a spot up in a tree as Tuba's final resting place. Hazel gives a eulogy for Tuba, and even convinces an initially reluctant Grace to say some words about Tuba's bravery, before singing Tuba's Lullaby. The song brings Grace to tears.
Hazel and Grace rejoin Simon at the door and cross between cars to where they can meet the Apex. Along the way, they pass by an older woman who appears to ignore them. Arriving in the next car, the Canyon of the Golden Winged Snakes Car, Simon is surprised to see on his tracker that the large cluster of numbers he thought was the Apex has actually moved to the car behind them. Turning back to the door, they are confronted by the woman who walked past them (Amelia), who angrily demands to know what they have been doing to the train cars.

Trivia[]
- End tag: Simon, Grace, and Hazel's hands are now joined by Amelia's, against a background of the Canyon of the Golden Winged Snakes Car.
- This is the only episode in the series to not have the opening credits.
- Kellye Perdue's storyboards reveal that Grace was originally going to appear gloveless for at least part of this episode, with her descending number visible during Tuba's funeral.[1] It is unclear why this change occurred, although it is possible Grace's gloves were added to minimize work for the animation team, or the glowing number proved distracting during the somber moment.
Continuity[]
- Hazel's memorial for Tuba is a glowing rock, which Tuba was shown picking up in "The Jungle Car." Like the objects from that car, it stops glowing when it is not being touched.
- Amelia returns after her last appearance in "The Engine."
