Sofia Alexander was a storyboard artist on Books 1 and 2 of Infinity Train. She announced she would be a storyboard artist on the show, on March 8, 2018.[1] She departed Infinity Train during production on Book Two to create her own series, Onyx Equinox, for Crunchyroll.
Background[]
Before working as a storyboard for Infinity Train. Sofia Alexander was a storyboard artist for Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus. Humorously, Alexander was not very interested in storyboarding for Invader Zim, finding the show depressing and ugly when it was airing during her youth. Despite this she decided not to pass up on the job opportunity and to please her then-girlfriend (now wife), who is a big fan of the show. Alexander eventually revisited the older episodes, confirming that she was still right about it years later but its depressing nature became more appealing as an adult. In an interview with Creative Block, Alexander admits she ultimately had a lot of fun working on the show.[2]
Alexander's fan art for Invader Zim caught the attention of Owen Dennis and thus lead her to storyboard for Infinity Train. She ended up leaving mid-season 2 to work on Crunchyroll's High Guardian Spice in preparation for eventually working with the streaming service to produce her series Onyx Equinox.[3]
