Passenger Transportation Pods are a type of containment unit that transport new passengers aboard the Infinity Train.

After a passenger receives their Number from the Passenger Preparation Car, the pods take them to a random train car. These transpods hover in the same fashion as The Cat's personal shuttlecraft.

Design[]

Pods are egg white and oval shaped with a black LED-esque band on it's rear side that can light up red wavelengths when someone is talking and six screws on top that can eject any excess memory fluid trapped inside. It's head and mouth is away from the black bands. Underneath a pod is a neon blue circle that shoots blue electricity as it flies to it's destination.

Function[]

Once the passenger has been assigned with a Number by the train, the pod will take the sleeping passenger, extract the mysterious memory fluid of the Passenger Preparation Car and take it to a random car to start their journey through the Infinity Train.

Initially Transpods were programmed to drop of unconscious passengers at any car and leave before being noticed. When One-One became the conductor he made an effort to update them. Now the pods are equipped with a mini screen that can play the documentary series One-One made throughout The Train Documentaries and Book Two in case passengers ride conscious. Once a passenger has arrived to their assigned starting car One-One's introduction video plays. With Glad-One introducing himself and a passengers goal of getting their number down to zero while Sad-One gives the liabilities.

All transportation pods have a small glowing square above the black band on it's side that will light up red and lightly beep when their passenger is in danger or the pod malfunctions. The square will turn green once the danger has been cleared. Based on the events of "The Engine" these signs were either originally linked to all Stewards or Amelia programmed it for her personal Steward. If a pod starts to malfunction on route with a passenger, it will carry them back to the Passenger Preparation Car.

Trivia[]

  • Passenger Pod in the Snow Car
Although it received its first proper introduction in "The Black Market Car" and was seen as part of Amelia's suit in "The Ball Pit Car," the pods made their first appearance in the background of the series' first episode: when Tulip wakes up in the Snow Car, her pod can be very briefly glimpsed in the background flying away before being covered by trees.
