"Jesse's Friends" are most notably the group of boys in the video recording on Jesse's phone. In the episode "The Toad Car", it's revealed they are part of the reason why Jesse got on the train.
Besides the group of jocks, Jesse is also friends with the theater kids and eraser kids. These friends are only mentioned in "The Family Tree Car".
History[]
Once, during lunch, one of Jesse's friends gave him their celery since he liked it and they didn't. However, Mrs. Graham, the lunch lady, thought Jesse was wasting the food, so she made him eat about thirty pieces of celery.[1]
Jesse's "friends" convince him to video record his brother Nate go through the "man test" which involved sliding down a steep hill on office drawer with wheels. Nate who is hesitant to go through the test only agrees to do it when Jesse pressures him to do it, who in turn is pressured by the broader boy who is waiting to push Nate.
When Nate gets hurt and breaks his arm doing the test Jesse's friends are quick to mock him. The boy who pushed Nate naturally pressures Jesse into joining bullying. Jesse ultimately picks pleasing his friends over doing what was right in that instance and his brother runs home crying.
Soon after that incident, Jesse boarded the Infinity Train.[2]
Trivia[]
- The boy who pushed Nate down the hill and the assumed leader of the group is named Troy "Snootily" Banks. Jesse mentions him in "The Family Tree Car" while trying to resolve the family tree's conflict. The end credits confirms the bully's name.
- Jesse's eraser shaving collection friend group is inspired by episode writer Lindsay Katai's real life school experience.[3]
