The Cubey Denizens are a group of rock-shaped denizens who occupy the Hey Ho Whoa Car.
Description[]
The denizens, who are all rocks, don't seem to do much except say "Hey," "Ho," and "Whoa!" when falling (or perhaps thrown), even when they are asleep. It seems their only role in the car is to fill the massive crevasse dividing the two doors.
History[]
Book Two - Cracked Reflection[]
"The Lucky Cat Car"[]
Hey Ho Whoa Toss
The Cubey Denizens are first alluded to in the background, where one of the stalls in the Lucky Cat Car carnival is a stand labelled the "Hey Ho Whoa Toss," suggesting the goal is to toss them (and thus they say their catchphrase).
Book Three - Cult of the Conductor[]
"The Hey Ho Whoa Car"[]
They, along with their car, make their first appearance in this episode, where Amelia recalls having had to get through them previously, only for the car to reset and leaving the group stranded until the denizens refill the canyon. They continue to fall late into the night while Amelia, Grace, Simon, and Hazel wait to cross.
"The Origami Car"[]
Grace is woken up by one of them falling near her. By this point they have filled the crevasse, granting the group passage.
Book Four - Duet[]
"The Party Car"[]
One of them by the name of Driveway appears in the Party Car. True to form, he only ever says "Hey," "Ho," or "Whoa."
Trivia[]
- They are all voiced by Owen Dennis.
