13 year old Tulip finds herself trapped on an seemly endless train, where every car has it's own pocket dimension. She is accompanied by a dual personality robot named One-One and the king of corgis, Atticus. In awe and frustration of the trains nature Tulip and her friends traverse through the cars looking for the conductor to get answers. Strangely, their quest is being threatened by a mysterious and menacing multi-armed monster.

The season was confirmed on March 9, 2018 via a video on Cartoon Network's YouTube channel. A full trailer was released on June 18, 2019 initially accessible through a puzzle on Cartoon Network's website. The puzzle game was to play the right notes to the shows theme on the keyboard from the Keyboard Car. Specifically the combination D, B, G, then F#.[1] The season's full title was revealed in a tweet from Owen Dennis on November 25, 2019.

Trivia[]

  • Music: The song used in the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con trailer is "Crazy Train" by Ozzy Osbourne.
  • The official clip was animated by Owen Dennis. In the Gallery Nucleus panel he admits that when making it he'd forgotten what Tulip's chin looked like, hence the hilarious bucket shaped head design.[2]
  • The jungle area on the cover of Book One never makes an appearance in the season. This jungle is the same one that appears in Book Three - The Cult of the Conductor.[3]
  • Book One's main story takes inspiration from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll:
    • In "The Past Car" a young Alrick Timmens gets a good grade on an essay about the themes in Alice in Wonderland for his English class.
    • Certain characters in this season mirror an Alice in Wonderland characters. An example of this is The Cat whose role in the story is similar to that of the Cheshire Cat.
  • Although never, confirmed one could also claim Book One's story is similar to The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum, which is about a girl and her newfound companions traveling to find a powerful figure who turns out to be a fraud. Coincidentally, Baum was strongly influencd by Alice's Adventures in Wonderland when writing The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
  • In 2020, Owen Dennis created a VHS edition of Book One as a gift for the crew. A copy of this tape was auctioned off for The Trevor Project on March 13th, 2022. The auction was organized by The Owl House creator Dana Terrace against Disney's stance on the "Don't Say Gay" Bill.

Errors[]

  • On the Book One DVD cover Tulip's number is on the left hand instead of the right.
  • In the Official Infinity Train trailer, the destination of the train is referred to as "Osh Kosh" instead of "Oshkosh". The error was fixed for the show.
